You're invited to a show n tell n monch time with Howy!
What we now call the autism spectrum is a cluster of social, cultural, and developmental disabilities popularized by Hans Asperger and Leo Kanner.
Because of the cultural and social components, the presentation of autism varies widely from person to person, including gendered characteristics, which has led to widespread misunderstanding and misdiagnosis.
In this talk we'll discuss the most common identifying characteristics of the autism spectrum, co-diagnostics, and autism's place in the modern neurodiversity and disability rights movements.
Food will be served: expect Papa John's pizza and Krispey Kreme donuts. This is a joint seminar with the Gagnon Student Seminar. A hybrid option will be available over Zoom.
