Depending on our choice of the allowed degenerations, we can obtain a moduli space that is arbitrarily singular or a configuration space that is smooth with well behaved boundary. Feb. 16, 2016 2pm (MATH 350)	Lie Theory Shawn Burkett (CU) X Under certain conditions, the action of a finite group $A$ on a finite group $G$ induces an action of $A$ on the set of supercharacter theories of $G$ . In particular, this is possible when $A$ acts via automorphisms. The two trivial supercharacter theories must be fixed under these actions, but it is not so clear if any other fixed points exist. In this talk, such actions will be discussed, with particular focus on determining groups $G$ in which no nontrivial supercharacter theories of $G$ are fixed by $Aut(G)$ and those in which all supercharacter theories are fixed by $Aut(G)$ .
