Information transmission is a very large part of modern life, and so the problem of finding robust and reliable ways of encoding and decoding data is a pertinent one. In this talk we present a few of the most basic results in Coding Theory and (if the time allows) a few very simple (but nonetheless illuminating) examples of codes, some of which have neat decoding algorithms.
