I will introduce an example of an infinite dimensional manifold which is the manifold of Riemannian metrics. That is, given a finite dimensional, compact, smooth, orientable manifold without boundary, we can consider the Riemannian structures that can be placed on . We will then put a metric on this space and discuss its properties.
