Textbooks

• Lay: The official text we are reading.
  • Your Textbook's Website includes practice exams, review sheets, etc.
  • The Library has several copies and a copy of the Study Guide on reserve.
• Hefferon: This is an alternate free online textbook which is also very readable and has lots of exercises with solutions.

Software

• Online Matrix Calculator - Easy to use, checks your homework for you.
• Campus Computer Labs - Have Maple, Mathematica, Matlab, etc.
• Sage - Free, sophisticated math software for indepth exploration.
• Wolfram Alpha - Ask it questions without learning a syntax.

Online Resources

Note: the internet can in fact do your homework for you in many cases. So can your friends, your mother, and your tutor. That's not the point. Study (and drink) responsibly.

• Wolfram Alpha - Calculator of divine proportions.
• Math Forum Digital Library - Catalogue of web resources.
• CalcPlot3D - Very extensive graphing/visualisation tool.
• MVT from Applied Math - Another great graphing/visualisation tool.
• Linear Algebra Toolkit - If you have trouble with basic computations, this is an online tutor.

CU Resources

Note: Tutors may mistakenly believe it is acceptable to do your homework for you. Please educate them.

• The Undergraduate Mathematics Resource Center is in Math 175 (first floor of math building), and is open, M-Th 9-5 and F 9-2. Although tutors no longer serve this course, an area has been set up where you can meet your peers to work together.
