Multiscale differentials arise as limits of holomorphic differentials with prescribed orders of zeros on nodal curves. In this talk, I will explain a beautiful conjecture, initially proposed by Ranganathan—Wise and further elaborated upon by Battistella—Bozlee, which concerns contraction of multiscale differentials to Gorenstein singularities level by level.
