The grand unified group Spin(11,1) is motivated by the fact that Spin(10) chirality coincides with Dirac chirality, allowing 10 compact internal dimensions and 3+1 large spacetime dimensions to coexist in a geometry of just 11+1 dimensions. Spin(11,1) admits a 12 dimensional bosonic string theory whose 26 underlying dimensions are compactified to 12 on the 14 dimensional self-dual torus of the SU(8)xSU(8) group. The 10 dimensional geometry is a complex five-fold that becomes a Calabi-Yau five-fold after symmetry breaking to the standard model. The multiverse just got a whole lot bigger.
