Abstract:
Independence-friendly logic (IF logic) is a conservative extension of ordinary first-order logic that has the same expressive power as existential second-order logic. Independence-friendly cylindric set algebras are an algebraization of IF logic. We will introduce both IF logic and independence-friendly cylindric set algebras. Then we will discuss some finite-axiomatizability results and an open problem.
