Title: Independence-friendly cylindric set algebras. Speaker: Allen Mann Affiliation: CU Time: 1pm, Monday, March 19 Location: Math 350 Abstract: Independence-friendly logic (IF logic) is a conservative extension of ordinary first-order logic that has the same expressive power as existential second-order logic. Independence-friendly cylindric set algebras are an algebraization of IF logic. We will introduce both IF logic and independence-friendly cylindric set algebras. Then we will discuss some finite-axiomatizability results and an open problem. Title: Independence-friendly cylindric set algebras.
