Prerequisites: Math 102 or appropriate placement score. Credit: Math 111 satisfies the mathematics component of the quantitative reasoning general education requirement. Math 111 or its equivalent is required for students who want to take Math 205 (Calculus I). Homework, Quizzes and Exams: During the semester there will be regularly assigned homework, weekly quizzes, three in-class tests and a combined sections final exam. Your grade will be based on your homework notebook, quiz scores, and exam results. These components of your grade will be weighted according to the following formula. Grade = HW(15%) + Quiz(20%) + T1(15%) + T2(15%) + T3(15%) + F(20%) Late work is not accepted. I will not give make-up quizzes, but I will not count your two lowest quiz scores. Scoring: Written work will be judged on the basis of completeness, legibility and correctness. Strings of formulas without explanation will not be accepted. Paragraph organization (where appropriate), complete sentences and correct punctuation are expected.
