This course satisfies the mathematics component of the quantitative reasoning general education requirement. Prerequisites: Successful completion of Math 111-112, Math 190, or an appropriate placement score. (Note: credit will not be granted for both Math 180 and Math 205.) Quizzes, Lab and Exams: During the semester there will be regularly assigned homework, weekly quizzes, weekly computer laboratory assignments, two in-class tests and a final exam. Your grade will be based on quizzes, lab projects, and exams. These components of your grade will be weighted according to the following formula. Grade = Quiz(20%)+Lab(15%)+T1(20%)+T2(20%)+Final(25%). Late work is not accepted. I will not give make-up quizzes. However, I will not count your two lowest quiz scores. Scoring: Written work will be judged on the basis of completeness, legibility and correctness. Strings of formulas without explanation will not be accepted.Paragraph organization (where appropriate), complete sentencesand correct punctuation are expected.
