This requires a preliminary excursion into vector algebra (Chap. 11) and vector analysis (Chap. 12). Prerequisites: The equivalent of Math 205-206 (Calc. I & II). Homework and Exams: During the semester you will be expected to complete regularly assigned homework, 3 fifty minute tests, and a final exam. Each HW assignment is worth 20 points; I will count only the top 10 assignments (out of 11), so homework contributes 200 points to your final grade. Each test will be worth 200 points, and the final exam will be worth 400 points. (Total = 200 + 3\times (200) + 400 = 1200.) Scoring: Written work will be judged on the basis of completeness, legibility and correctness. Strings of formulas without explanation will not be accepted. Paragraph organization (where appropriate), complete sentences and correct punctuation are expected.
