Course Outline:
Our aim is to learn differential and integral calculus of functions of
many variables (Chaps. 13-15). This requires a preliminary excursion
into vector algebra (Chap. 11) and vector analysis (Chap. 12).

Prerequisites:
The equivalent of Math 205-206 (Calc. I & II).

Homework and Exams:
During the semester you will be expected to complete regularly assigned
homework, 3 fifty minute tests, and a final exam. Each HW assignment is
worth 20 points; I will count only the top 10 assignments (out of 11),
so homework contributes 200 points to your final grade. Each test will
be worth 200 points, and the final exam will be worth 400 points.
(Total = 200 + 3\times (200) + 400 = 1200.)

Scoring:
Written work will be judged on the basis of completeness, legibility
and correctness. Strings of formulas without explanation will not be
accepted. Paragraph organization (where appropriate), complete sentences
and correct punctuation are expected.

Dates:
HW/Tests: Every Wednesday	Break: Oct 13-14
Labor Day: Sept 1 Test 3:Nov 5
Test 1: Sept 17 Thanksgiving Vacation: Nov 26-30
Test 2: Oct 8 Last Day of Class: Dec 8

Getting Help:
Don't wait until it is too late if you need help. ASK QUESTIONS!
I am available during the office hours listed above and also at many
other times. If you can't see me during office hours, then make an
appointment with me to see me at a different time. I will also give
short answers to questions sent by email.

Information concerning our class will be posted on my web page under
"information for students". A copy of any document I hand out in class
will be accessible from this page. I will post quiz/test solutions here.
