WileyPLUS
is an online system that integrates various tools for learning, for
example, reading materials, practice problems, and `Just ask'
tutorials. Access WileyPLUS using the link in the left panel.
Homework:
Homework assignments will be posted through WileyPLUS, and all homework
must be submitted online through WileyPLUS by the given deadline. No
other form of submission will be accepted, and no late homework will be
accepted. The five lowest homework scores will not count towards the
final grade.
Homework usually will be assigned MWF and will be due at 7am before
the second succeeding MWF lecture. (So, for example, HW assigned for
Monday must be submitted online by 7am Friday, while HW assigned for
Wednesday must be submitted online by 7am Monday.)
Recitation:
The Thursday meeting of this course is for your Recitation. The
purpose of the recitation is to give you an opportunity to `recite' (or
review) the material from the lecture. You are expected to attend the
lectures and spend time working on the HW before coming to the
recitation. At the end of the semester you will receive a recitation
grade based on recitation quizzes, your participation and your
behavior in recitation. `Participation' means coming to class on time,
paying attention to what your TA asks you to do, and working on the
recitation exercises during recitation. `Behavior' means not
interfering with the academic environment.
Exam Dates:
There will be three midterm exams and a final exam:
- Mid1: September 20 (Wednesday), 5:15-6:45 pm,
- Mid2: October 18 (Wednesday), 5:15-6:45 pm,
- Mid3: November 15 (Wednesday), 5:15-6:45 pm.
- Final: December 19 (Tuesday), 4:30-7:00 pm.
Other important dates (for example, drop deadlines, holidays, etc.) may
be found here.
Grading Criteria and
Formula:
Your work will be judged on the basis of correctness, completeness, and
legibility. You will receive a recitation grade, a homework grade,
grades on three midterm exams and a grade on the final exam. Your
course grade will be determined from these by the formula:
Rec(10%) + HW(14%) + Mid1(17%) + Mid2(17%) + Mid3(17%) +
Fin(25%).
There will be no extra credit assignments.
Getting Help:
Don't wait until it is too late if you need help. Ask questions! You
can get help from your instructor or recitation TA in class or during
their office hours. To find the office hours for your section follow
the `Contact Info' link in the left panel. You may also seek assistance
at the Calculus 2 Help Lab. To find the times and locations for the
Help Lab follow the `Help Lab' link in the left panel.
Policies:
By following the `Policies' link in the left panel you will find
details about
- the course policy on limits of collaboration,
- the honor code, and
- campus policies on classroom behavior, on
accommodating students with disabilities, and on observance of
religious holidays.
If you need any special accommodation due to medical disability or
observance of a religious holiday, please inform your instructor as
soon as possible (preferably within the first two weeks of class), and
provide documentation.
