The Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of 
the Kyrghyz Republic is organizing an International Workshop on two 
well-known problems of universal algebra and lattice theory: 
The Finite Basis Problem and the Birkhoff-Mal'tsev Problem. 
This meeting is a part of the U.S. Civilian Research and 
Development Foundation cooperative grant no. KYM1-2852-B1-07.

The workshop will be held on the bank of Lake Ysykol (around 250 km 
from Bishkek) from 9 to 16 of July 2008.

We invite all mathematicians interested in the workshop to participate.

The programme of the workshop will consist of  20-40 minutes contributed talks.

The list of participants of the workshop include Ralph McKenzie (Vanderbilt
University, TN, USA), Wieslaw Dziobiak (University of Puerto Rica, 
Mayaguez Campus, PR, USA), Alexander Kravchenko (Institute of Mathematics, 
Novosibirsk, Russia), Marina Semenova (Institute of Mathematics, Novosibirsk, 
Russia), Anvar Nurakunov (Institute of Mathematics, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan).

The deadline for declaring participation in the workshop is May 31, 2008.
