The nearest major airport is Denver International Airport (DIA). From the airport, one can reach Boulder by shuttle, bus, taxi or car.

By Shuttle

For many people the best way to get from and to the airport will be to take the SuperShuttle. The shuttle will take you directly to your hotel for a fare of $27 each way. Tickets are available at the Boulder SuperShuttle desk at DIA. The location of this desk can be found on the SuperShuttle web site under "How to Get to SuperShuttle After You Land", and it is easy enough to find by following signs to "Ground Transportation" in the terminal or by asking folks who work there.

By Bus

You can catch the AB Boulder (also called the SkyRide) from the Denver International Airport Bus Island #5. Bus fare is $13, exact change. Schedules can be found on the RTD website by searching for route AB. Not all Boulder hotels are served by the AB bus, but connections can be made at the Boulder Transit Center. Local bus fares are $2.25/ride.

By Taxi

There is a ($84.00 + $4.15 airport access fee) = $88.15 flat rate per cab to take passengers between Boulder and the Denver International Airport. No other stops may be made along the way. The flat rate applies regardless of the number of passengers that share a ride. Some cab companies are listed in the Quick Links.

By Car

If you choose to drive in from the airport, it is important to find some (any) route through Denver to the US-36 W, which then leads directly to Boulder. One method: head south from the airport, immediately upon leaving the airport take the ramp onto Pena Blvd, after 11 miles merge onto I-70 W, after 4 miles take I-270 W, after 6.5 miles take US-36 W. After an additional 20 miles the US-36 W becomes 28th Street in Boulder, which enters town close to the university and to hotels.
If you choose to drive to Boulder from a different location, you will probably have time to consult Google maps or MapQuest before you start your trip.
